With a population of more than 41,000, the town of Germering is now the sixth biggest municipality in Upper Bavaria and has got off to an almost incomparable start:
-
Archaeological finds show that Germering was first inhabited 9.000 years ago, and there is evidence that people have been settling in our area for more than 4,000 years.
-
In the 1950s and 60s, Germering grew like almost no other municipality. The population increased from 11.160 in 1961 to 33.891 in 1978 as a result of the expansive housing policy of the late 1960s.
-
Following the merger of the previously independent parishes of Germering and Unterpfaffenhofen in 1978, it was recognised as a town in 1991.
-
In 2004, Germering was designated as a large town. As a potential builder, this means that all of your contact persons will be available in one local administrative department.
